Questions
- How much quality will I lose?
- At the default setting most photos are hard to tell from the original while landing near half the size. Text, sharp edges and flat color show wear first, so check those.
- Does my original file change?
- No. The file on your disk is only read, and the results are new files you download. Close the tab and anything you did not download is gone.
- What if a file will not get smaller?
- Then you get it back exactly as it was, marked as already well compressed. A file that was saved efficiently usually comes out bigger, so the smaller of the two wins.
