Questions
- How much smaller will my file get?
- It depends on what is inside. A PDF of scanned photographs can lose most of its size, while one that is mostly words may barely move. The result shows the exact figure.
- Will the text still be selectable?
- With Lossless, yes, and search still finds words. Smaller and Smallest turn every page into a picture, so selecting, copying and searching stop working, and so do links.
- Which setting suits a scan?
- Smaller. A scan is already a picture, so it loses little you would notice on screen and saves a lot. Keep Smallest for when a hard size cap has to be met.
