Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how genvi uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies. In short: we use only strictly necessary cookies. We measure how the product is used, but we do so without setting any tracking cookie and without any third party — see “Product analytics” below. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your browsing activity. Because we rely solely on essential cookies, no cookie-consent banner is required under the ePrivacy Directive / GDPR.

1. What we use

Strictly necessary cookies

• Authentication / session cookies, set by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) to keep you signed in and to protect requests. Without these you cannot log in or use the Service.

Local browser storage (not cookies)

• UI preferences, such as light/dark theme and editor layout, stored in your browser's local storage on your device. This never leaves your browser.
• A session identifier, a random value held in your browser's session storage for the duration of a single visit, so that the pages you open in one visit can be counted as one visit. It is not a cookie, it is not tied to your identity by your browser, and it is discarded when you close the tab.

2. Product analytics

We measure how genvi is used — which pages are opened, which features are used, and whether generations succeed — so that we can fix what is broken and build what is used. This is first-party only: the data is processed by us, stored in our own database, and never shared with an analytics vendor or advertising network.

If you are not signed in, we do not store anything on your device for this purpose. Visitors are counted using a value we derive on our server from your IP address and browser type, salted and rotated every day. It cannot be reversed to identify you, it cannot follow you across days, and nothing is written to your browser.

If you are signed in, the same product-usage events are recorded against your account, in the same way your projects and generations are. You can request a copy of this data, or its deletion, from your account settings.

We honour the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals. If your browser sends either, we record nothing at all.

3. What we do not use

• Third-party analytics services or analytics cookies
• Advertising or retargeting cookies and tracking pixels
• Third-party social or cross-site tracking
• Any tracking cookie or device identifier for visitors who are not signed in

4. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking our essential authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Service. Clearing local storage will reset your saved UI preferences. To opt out of product analytics entirely, enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser.

5. Changes

If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (for example, optional analytics), we will update this policy and present a consent mechanism before any such cookies are set. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data, or contact us at support@genvi.co.
