- Why does my GIF look grainy?
- A GIF can hold only 256 colors at a time. Skies, dark scenes and grainy footage band visibly. A narrower GIF often looks cleaner than a wide, noisy one.
- Does a GIF keep the sound?
- No, and it cannot: the format has no place for audio. When you need the sound, trim the video to the same stretch and keep it as a video file instead.
- How do I make the file smaller?
- Make it shorter, choose the lowest smoothness, or pick the narrowest width. Length and width cost the most. A recent Chrome, Edge or Safari is needed, and a long source can defeat a phone.
