Trim audio to the part you need

You want the first thirty seconds of a song for a ringtone, or one line out of an hour long meeting. Play the file, mark where the part starts and ends, and keep only that.

Free, no account needed, and your file stays on your device.

What you get

It comes back as it went in

An MP3 stays an MP3 and a WAV stays a WAV, so the part you keep sounds the way it always did.

Find the moment by ear

Start here and End here take the spot the player is sitting on, and the number fields let you nudge it.

The recording stays private

A meeting or a voice memo can hold things you would not hand to a stranger. This one never leaves your computer.

Questions

Can I use this to make a ringtone?
Yes. Trim the section you want, download it, and copy it onto your phone the way that phone expects. It is not renamed or dropped into a ringtone folder for you.
Can I cut a piece out of the middle?
Not in one go. This keeps one stretch and drops the rest. To lose a middle section, save the part before it, save the part after it, and join those two in an editor.
Will the clip be a different file type?
Usually not. If your browser cannot write the original type back, the clip arrives as a WAV instead, and the result says which one you got so you are not left guessing.
